Welcome to 5th grade! I am very excited about having such amazing students in our classes! The first few weeks of school will be dedicated to establishing routines in our classroom community. Research shows that this time is well spent as we create an atmosphere of respect, cooperation and accountability; the end result is a greater gain in academic achievement. We will discuss our responsibilities to ourselves and as members of our class. Also, during the first weeks we will be assessing the children in Spanish & English, the information gathered will help us to tailor the curriculum to fit your child’s needs.

Bienvenidos a 5º! ¡Estoy muy emocionada por tener alumnos tan asombrosos en este año! Las primeras semanas de clases seran dedicadas a establecer las rutinas y procedimientos de nuestra comunidad escolar. Investigaciones muestran que este es tiempo muy bien invertido porque se crea una buena atmosfera de respeto, cooperación y responsabilidad. El resultado final es un mayor aprovechamiento académico. Tambien vamos a discutir nuestras responsabilidades individuales y como miembros de la clase, evaluaremos a los alumnos en ingles y español. La información acumulada nos ayudara a desarrollar el plan de estudios que mejor funcione para cumplir con las necesidades de sus hijos.
