Home Practice

Practice writing numbers 0 - 20

I've noticed several number reversals. Help your child practice writing his/her numbers and point out correct formation in books.

Letter formation

Practice writing both capital and lower case letters.

Eating to Zero

We have been working on subtraction. Give your child 20 small treats. Say... we're starting with 20, lets eat 5. How many do we have left? 20-5=15. Continue this fun game to zero. Be sure to connect the game to the concept.

Addition

Help your child with the concept of addition by playing "roll 'em". Use dice and take turns rolling. Add up the numbers rolled. Make sure to connect the game to the concept by asking your child to say the number sentence ... 4+3=7

Reading

As always, enjoy daily reading with your child. Talk about what you are reading including the characters and the lesson of the story.
